While Xiaomi is gearing up to the launch the Mi 8 in China on May 31, the company is reportedly preparing to launch the budget Redmi 6 series smartphones as well. Xiaomi could launch the Redmi 6 along with Redmi 6A in the near future to replace the currentRedmi 5 series phones. The Redmi 6 series phones have been reportedly spotted on Chinese certification website- TENAA.
Reports suggest there could three smartphones in the upcoming Redmi 6 series with model numbers M1804C3DE, M1804C3CC and M1804C3CE. The Redmi 6 device with model number M1804C3DE comes with a dual-lens rear camera while the other two models has a regular single-lens rear camera. According to the certification website, the Redmi 6 could feature a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone could be powered by a 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. There is a 3,000mAh battery as well. There is a 5MP front camera along with a dual-lens setup with a 12MP primary sensor. The device could be launched in three different RAM options-2GB, 3GB and 4GB of RAM. The Redmi 6 could also feature a display notch.
There is little known about the other models but the listing on TENAA suggest that they will also be available in different RAM and storage options along with a single-lens rear camera. There is no official word from Xiaomi on this.
